《突厥语大词典》中国维吾尔族著名学者马赫穆德·喀什噶尔编纂的综合反映喀喇汗王朝时期维吾尔和突厥语系各族多方面知识的词书。于伊斯兰教历464～466年（1071～1073）在巴格达用阿拉伯文写成，伊斯兰教历 467年又重新增订，献给阿巴斯王朝第27世哈里发乌布里哈斯木·阿卜都勒·穆克特迪·毕拉·毕艾穆若拉。原稿失传。目前唯一的手抄本是1256年由穆罕默德·伊本·艾比白克尔抄写的，现存土耳其伊斯坦布尔民族图书馆。1928年译为德文。1939～1941年译为土耳其文，在安卡拉出版。1960～1963年译为乌孜别克文,在塔什干出版。另外还部分地译成了阿塞拜疆、哈萨克、土库曼文。中国于1981年 9月至1984年12月在乌鲁木齐出版了 3卷本的现代维吾尔语译本，在国内外广泛发行。《突厥语大词典》表明，包括维吾尔语在内的突厥语系是具有悠久历史的发达的语言。它通过丰富的语言材料广泛介绍了喀喇汗王朝时代维吾尔和突厥语系其他各民族的政治、经济、文化知识和哲学伦理概念以及风土人情。该词典所记载的突厥语系各部落的史料可以从中国汉文史书和其他国家某些东方学家的著作中得到印证。《词典》标明了喀喇汗王朝的疆域，记述了相邻突厥语系各部落以及邻国的地理名称，详细记载了较大的城市、村镇、交通枢纽、山脉与?恿鳎⒒隽送回视锵蹈髅褡寰幼〉牡赜颉５笔保庹诺赝际茄侵拮钔瓯傅牡赝肌Ｊ杖敫么实涞某捎铩⒀栌铩⒚窀栌? 200多条，包含有不少哲学内容。它们体现了维吾尔和其他突厥语系各族人民对宇宙和人生的看法、文明礼貌、社会道德准则以及其他的物质和精神生活。
