海河海河中国华北地区最大水系。又称沽河。由蓟运-潮白-北运河、永定河、大清河、子牙河与漳卫-南运河五大水系组成。它们从不同方向在天津市区及其附近汇合东流到大沽口入渤海。海河干流是指从天津市金钢桥附近的三岔河,东到大沽口海河闸上的一段河道。全长仅76千米。若以漳卫河的源地起算,则长1090千米。流域面积26.36万平方千米。流域的地势是北、西和西南三面高,东北部低,故各支流由北、西北、西、西南方向汇聚于天津市。水系呈扇状分布:①蓟运-潮白-北运河。蓟运河有二源,东源州河,西源泃河。两河在天津宝坻县九王庄汇合后叫蓟运河,下游于江洼口接纳还乡河等以后,经北塘、永定新河入海。全长316千米。潮白河源于河北沽源县的白河和丰宁满族自治县的潮河,两河在北京密云县汇合后称潮白河。在南流到牛栏山东侧纳入怀河,在顺义县赵庄南纳箭杆河,在通县入北运河。长467千米,流域面积1956平方千米。北运河源于北京的温榆河,由东沙河、北沙河和南沙河等组成。三河在昌平县沙河汇合后,流至通县始称北运河。东南流,在武清接纳龙凤新河,至天津大红桥入海河,全为人工开挖而成。长140千米。②永定河。海河水系中最长的一条支流。长681千米,流域面积5.09万平方千米(至屈家店站)。上游由洋河和桑干河两河组成。两河于怀来县朱官屯相汇后入官厅水库,经水库后出官厅峡,才称永定河。永定河到天津北郊屈家店与北运河汇合后入海河。因含泥沙量大,泥沙沉淤成“地上河”,常常泛滥成灾。③大清河。又称上西河。长约483千米,流域面积3.27万平方千米(至工农兵闸)。支流繁多,绝大部分发源于太行山东麓,源短流急,上游主要由北支拒马河和南支赵王河组成。④子牙河。由滹沱河与滏阳河两大支流组成,两河在献县臧家桥汇合称子牙河。经西河闸至天津十一堡汇南运河,至第六堡与大清河相汇,后至金钢桥和北运河合流。全长747千米(至海口),流域面积4.6万平方千米(至献县)。⑤漳卫-南运河。南运河系指京杭运河山东至天津的一段,因位于天津以南,故名。上游由漳河与卫河组成,两河在河北省馆陶县境内汇合,在此以下至临清称卫运河。海河多年平均流量717立方米/秒,径流总量226亿立方米。年内分配和年际变化不均。历史上水旱灾害频繁,据记载,1368~1948年的580年间,海河曾发生水灾387次,旱灾407次。每次较大的水灾,涉及的县都有100多个。在这期间,天津市被淹70多次。中华人民共和国建立后,对海河流域进行了全面治理,在上游山区控制水土流失,筑库防洪蓄水;中游疏浚河道,加固堤防;下游平原区增辟新河,分洪入海。因此全流域基本上免除了洪涝灾害。
