红外技术红外技术infraredtechnique研究红外辐射的产生、传播、转化和测量及其应用的技术科学。红外辐射包括介于可见光与微波之间的电磁波段。红外技术主要包含4个①红外辐射的性质。如受热物体所发射的辐射在光谱、强度和方向的分布；辐射在媒质中的传播特性——反射、折射、衍射和散射；热电效应和光电效应等。②红外元件、器件和部件的研制。③把红外元器件、部件组成系统的光学、电子学和精密机械。④在军事和国民经济中的应用。红外探测器的发展是红外技术发展的先导。1940年以前研制成热敏型红外探测器。20世纪50年代半导体物理学的迅速发展，推进了光电型红外探测器的发展。60年代中叶起，红外探测器向两个方向发展：①在1～14微米范围内的探测器，由单元向多元发展。其中的二维列阵探测器，以nm个元件排成n行m列的方阵，放在光学系统的焦平面上就能获取目标的瞬时红外图像，还可加上信息处理电路，直接输出所需的信息。碲镉汞材料是发展多元红外探测器的基础材料。②响应波段向长波延伸，从几十微米到几百微米以至几千微米。其中1～3毫米波段有大气吸收很小的透射窗口，而且可以制造相当强的相干辐射源，因而可采用外差探测技术，具有重要的应用前景。60年代激光的出现极大地影响了红外技术的发展。很多重要的激光都在红外波段，其相干性便于移用电子技术中的外差接收技术。激光的探测性能比功率探测高好几个数量级，可以得到更高的分辨率和更大的信息容量。红外技术在军事和国民经济各部门得到广泛应用。例如，红外技术在军事上可用于目标探测、通信和夜视，在工业、医学和科研方面可用于热源探测、温度测量与过程控制、红外光谱分析、红外加热干燥、红外遥感、红外天文学等。但红外技术所用的波段仅为近红外和中红外，广阔的远红外还未应用，因此，红外探射技术还大有发展余地。
