保安族保安族中国少数民族之一。主要分布在甘肃、青海的部分地区。人口1.22万人（1990）。旧时因信伊斯兰教和风俗习惯与当地回族略同，称为保安回。中华人民共和国建立后，1959年定名为保安族。使用保安语，属阿尔泰语系蒙古语族。大多数人兼通汉语。关于保安族的族源，历史文献很少。一般认为是元、明时期以信伊斯兰教的一支蒙古族为主，吸收了一部分回、藏、土等族发展而成。也有人认为是以四川、陕西等地迁至青海同仁一带的“回回”人为主发展而成。他们明初定居今青海同仁县境内隆务河一带，万历时在当地设保安站，修建保安城，应招戍边，遂以地名为族名。同治初年因受当地喇嘛教隆务寺封建农奴主欺压，被迫东迁。中华人民共和国建立前处于封建地主经济发展阶段。保安族人日常生活的一个场景保安族以农业生产为主，部分人兼营手工业和副业。种植小麦、大麦、豆类、马铃薯、荞麦、胡麦、大黄芥和小辣芥等。手工业以打刀为主，称为保安刀，制作技艺高超，锋利耐用，精致美观，刀把上刻有花纹或图画。保安族能歌善舞，绝大多数人能唱民歌“保安花儿”，舞蹈动作节奏鲜明，欢快豪放。民间还流传有许多叙述历史及爱情的故事、诗歌、谚语等。男子喜奏丝竹乐，妇女擅长剪纸。造型艺术丰富。饮食以米、面为主，吃牛羊肉，忌食猪、马、驴、狗和一切猛禽、动物血和自死亡物。喜爱摔跤，善骑射。其服饰和附近的回族、东乡族基本相同。婚礼一般选择在伊斯兰教历的主麻日到女家举行。人死行土葬，注重速葬。中华人民共和国建立后，保安族获得民族平等和自治权利，成立了民族乡和联合自治县。农业生产和文教卫生事业都有很大发展。
