"现代城市"设想法国建筑师勒·柯布西耶提出的一种城市规划设想方案。勒·柯布西耶根据城市发展的历史和对巴黎市的调查研究,提出一个300万人口的"现代城市"设想方案。作者的观点在他的《明日的城市》(1922)中作了表达，后来又在《阳光城》(1933)一书中加以发挥。改造城市的基本原则 勒·柯布西耶认为从中古时期发展起来的城市，包括巴黎在内，已不能适应现代社会经济发展的需要，必须进行彻底改造。改造城市的基本原则是：城市按功能分成工业区、居住区、行政办公区和中心商业区等。城市中心地区向高空发展，建造摩天楼以降低城市的建筑密度。他提出建筑物用地面积应该只占城市用地的5％，其余95％均为开阔地,布置公园和运动场，使建筑物处在开阔绿地的围绕之中。他认为城市道路系统应根据运输功能和车行速度分类设计，以适应各种交通的需要。他主张采用规整的棋盘式道路网，采用高架、地下等多层的交通系统，以获得较高运输效率；各种工程管线布置在多层道路内部。他强调现代城市建设要用直线式的几何体形所体现的秩序和标准来反映工业生产的时代精神。300万人口现代城市的布局 19巴黎秋季沙龙展览会曾展出勒·柯布西耶的可容 300万人口现代城市规划设想草图（见图）。其布局设想是：城市中心是铁路、航空和汽车交通的汇集点；站屋广场采用多层空间处理。市中心区布置24幢60层的摩天办公楼，人口密度为每公顷3000人。中心区西侧布置市政府、博物馆、市级管理机构以及一个英国式花园。中心区东侧为工业区、仓库和铁路货运站。中心区的南北两侧为住宅区，人口密度约为每公顷300人。城区四周为保留的发展用地,布置绿地和运动场。城市郊区布置若干个田园城镇。城区住100万人，田园城镇容纳200万人。1925年巴黎万国博览会上展出了勒·柯布西耶的巴黎市中心改建规划方案，提出要拆除大量旧建筑，拓宽道路，修建18幢高层办公楼。这个方案没有实施。影响 勒·柯布西耶的城市规划思想影响深远。例如，在城市采用立体式的交通体系，在市区修建高层楼房，扩大城市绿地,创造接近自然的生活环境等原则,已被许多城市的规划全部或部分地采用。具有代表性的实例有昌迪加尔规划、巴西利亚规划和巴黎德方斯区规划等。
