大众传播大众传播masscommunication通过报纸、杂志、书籍、电影、广播、电视等传播工具向相对众多的人传递信息的过程。大众传播一词最早出现于20世纪30年代的美国。它具有传者、信息、大众传播工具和受众4个要素，与其他传播现象的根本区别在于：在传者与大量受传者之间插入了一种或多种联系两者的传播工具。大众传播的特点是：①具有组织性，其传者通常是个分工细致的庞杂机构；②传播内容具有公开性和易逝性，这就迫使传者注重信息传递的时效；③具有很强的选择性，传播工具对受众，受众对传播工具、传播内容、传播时间均可自由选择；④受众具有不知名和参差不一的特点；⑤在信息交流上具有单向性；⑥具有快速性，不断吸收新科技，提高传播速度，是其一个发展趋势。
