贝母属贝母属Fritillaria百合科的一属。多年生草本；鳞茎深埋土中，通常由2～3枚白粉质鳞片组成，罕有具多数鳞片。茎直立，不分枝。叶通常茎生、对生、轮生或散生，先端有时强烈卷曲。花一般辐射对称，单朵顶生或多朵排成总状花序，较少为伞形花序，具叶状苞片；花被片6，离生，常多少靠合，有色彩，间或有方格彩斑，近基部有一个凹陷的蜜腺窝。雄蕊6枚，生于花被片基部；柱头伸出雄蕊之上；子房上位，3室，每室有2纵列胚珠。果为蒴果，有6棱，棱上常有翅。具多数扁平的种子。约有60余种，分布于北半球温带地区，尤以中亚、地中海沿岸和北美洲最多。中国约有30余种，除南部诸省区外，其余省区均产，新疆和四川的野生种类最多。该属绝大多数种类的鳞茎可供药用，统称贝母，有清热润肺、化痰止咳之效。有些种类已被栽培，如浙贝母，在江、浙一带有悠久的栽培历史，数量也最大。其次是平贝母，主要产区在东北。平贝母
