综合孔径射电望远镜综合孔径射电望远镜aperturesynthesisradiotelescope一种具有高空间分辨率、高灵敏度、能够成像、适合于探测强度不变射电源的射电望远镜。基本工作原理是:地面上一条固定基线的相关干涉仪能观测到天体亮度分布的一个傅里叶分量,改变基线的空间指向或基线的长度,得一系列天体亮度分布的傅里叶分量,综合这些观测结果,作傅里叶反变换就可获得天体的亮度分布,即天体的射电图像。利用地球自转去改变地面固定基线在空间的指向来实现综合的要求,称为地球自转综合。既改变基线长度或指向又结合地球自转效应来实现综合称为超综合。综合孔径射电望远镜的空间分辨率取决于观测中所用的最长基线。它探测微弱天体能力的指标——灵敏度则取决于各个天线的总接收面积。它的研制成功,在射电观测技术乃至射电天文学发展中是一项重大突破。
