抵补套利 抵补套利概述 抵补套利 Covered Arbitrage：是指把资金调往高利率货币国家或地区的同时，在外汇市场上卖出远期高利率货币，即在进行套利的同时做掉期交易，以避免汇率风险。实际上这就是套期保值，一般的套利保值交易多为抵补套利。汇率变动也会给套利者带来风险。为了避免这种风险，套利者按即期汇率把利息率较低通货兑换成利息率较高的通货存在利息率较高国家的银行或购买该国债券的同时，还要按远期汇率把利息率高的通货兑换成利息率较低的通货，这就是抵补套利。还以英、美两国为例，如果美国的利息率低于英国的利息率，美国人就愿意按即期汇率把美元兑换成英镑存在英国银行。这样，美国人对英镑的需求增加。英镑的需求增加，在其他因素不变的情况下，英镑的即期汇率要提高。另一方面，套利者为了避免汇率变动的风险，又都按远期汇率签定卖远期英镑的合同，使远期英镑的供给增加。远期英镑的供给增加，在其他因素不变的情况下，远期英镑的汇率就要下跌。西方人根据外汇市场上的经验得出这样一条结论：利息率较高国家通货的即期汇率呈上升趋势，远期汇率呈下降趋势。根据这一规律，资本流动的方向不仅仅是由两国利息率差价决定的，而且是由两国利息率的差价和利息率高的国家通货的远期升水率或贴水率共同决定的。抵补利差为CD，英镑的贴水率或升水率为F￡，则有：CD＝Iuk—Ius 十F￡如果英国利息率Iuk＝10％，美国利息率Ius＝4％，远期英镑的贴水率F￡＝—3％，CD＝10％—4％—3％＝3％）0，这时资本会由美国流到英国。因为套利者认为，尽管远期英镑贴水使他们利润减少，但仍然有利润可赚。如果远期英镑的贴水率F￡＝—8％，其他情况不变，CD＝10％—4％—8％＝—2％（0，这时，资本会由英国流向美国。因为套利者认为，远期英镑贴水率太高，不但使他们的利润减少，而且使他们的利润为负。而英国人则愿意把英镑以即期汇率兑换成美元，以远期汇率把美元兑换成英镑，使资本由英国流到美国。下面，再用一个例子说明抵补套利的实际情况。设套利者的本金为＄1000，Iuk＝10％，Ius＝4％，英镑即期汇率为＄2.8/￡，英镑远期汇率为＄2.73/￡。套利者年初把美元换成英镑存在英国银行：＄1000÷＄2.8/￡＝￡3571 年后所得利息为：＄357×10％＝＄35.7根据当时签定合同的远期汇率，相当于＄97（＄35.7×＄2.73/￡），这是套利者的毛利润，从中减去套利的机会成本40 美元（＄1000×4％），套利者所得的净利润为57 美元（＄97—＄40）。这个例子说明，套利者在买即期英镑的同时，以较高远期英镑汇率卖出英镑，避免英镑汇率大幅度下降产生的损失，在1 年之后，即期英镑汇率＄2.4/￡，套利者仍按＄2.73/￡卖出英镑。套利活动不仅使套利者赚到利润，在客观上起到了自发地调节资本流动的作用。一个国家利息率高，意味着那里的资本稀缺，急需要资本。一个国家利息率较低。意味着那里资本充足。套利活动以追求利润为动机，使资本由较充足的地方流到缺乏的地方，使资本更有效地发挥了作用。通过套利活动，资本不断地流到利息率较高的国家，那里的资本不断增加，利息率会自发地下降；资本不断从利息率较低国家流出，那里的资本减少，利息率会自发地提高。套利活动最终使不同国家的利息率水平趋于相等。世界上几个重要的金融市场的外汇供求关系的失衡为保值、投机、掉期、套汇和套利等外汇交易提供了机会，反过来这些交易活动又能自发地使世界上各金融市场的外汇供求关系趋于均衡。均衡总是相对的，失衡才是绝对的、长期的。所以，保值、投机、掉期、套汇和套利等活动是外汇市场上必不可少的交易。离开了这些交易，外汇市场就要萎缩，也起不到调节资金或购买力的作用。
