生产实习高等学校和中等专业学校学生，在生产现场以工人、技术员、管理员等身份，直接参与生产过程，使专业知识与生产实践相结合的教学形式。工科各专业以及理科、农林、财经的多数专业，在教学计划中，都要安排一次或几次生产现场实习。现场实习的教学形式，也适用于医科、师范、以及文科的某些专业。但后者一般不称为生产实习而分别称为临床实习、教育实习、考古实习等等。生产实习的意义①贯彻理论联系实际原则的好办法。学生以实际工作者的身份，直接参与生产过程，既可运用已有的知识技能，完成一定的生产任务，又可学习实际生产技术知识或管理知识，掌握生产技能，或培养管理能力，并且通过实习巩固、丰富与提高理论知识。②对学生进行思想政治和道德品质教育的有效途径。在生产实习中，可以具体生动地对学生进行劳动观点、爱护公共财物、组织性纪律性、职业道德等教育。③检验教学质量的重要手段。通过生产实习，可以对学生专业知识、技能的实际水平，为社会主义建设服务的专业思想，社会主义劳动纪律与职业道德，以及教师的教学效果和思想工作，进行一次综合性的社会检验。生产实习的类型不同学科和专业的生产实习内容、方式、次数、时间不尽相同。一般说，应用学科生产实习的目的在于使学生熟悉生产实际情况，积累经验，掌握生产技术，因而次数较多，时间较长。理论学科生产实习的目的在于了解生产实际的一般情况，验证所学理论，并学习一定的操作技术，因而次数较少，时间较短。高等学校工科专业的生产实习体系比较完整。一般包括以下3 个阶段：①认识实习。目的在于使学生全面地了解生产的一般过程,有关厂矿企业的一般情况,在一、二年级尚未学习专业课之前进行，为专业学习做准备。②专业实习。学生在学习一定的专业知识之后，到生产现场，参加实际工作，以巩固加深专业知识，学习生产技术，并作为初级技术人员，初步学会解决若干比较简单的技术问题。③毕业实习。在毕业之前进行，学生要综合地运用全部专业知识以及有关的基础知识，解决生产技术问题，并进一步掌握生产技术。它的目的在于培养学生组织生产、独立工作以及初步的科学研究能力，以成为合格的专业技术人员。毕业实习最好同毕业设计毕业论文联系起来，在生产实习中可以搜集资料，为毕业设计、毕业论文做好准备工作。上述 3个阶段的生产实习，可以根据专业培养目标和要求，增减或合并。非工科的生产实习，往往只要一次或两次相当于专业实习的生产实习。生产实习计划与指导由系或教研室征求实习单位的意见以后制订生产实习计划。一般应包括如下内容:实习的目的和任务；实习的程序、地点和时间安排；实习内容；实习期间必要的上课、听报告、参观活动等；学生实习作业（实习日记、实习报告等）；实习的领导与组织；实习期间的纪律；实习经费预算，其他注意事项等。生产实习的指导工作，由实习指导教师和实习单位指定的指导人员共同负责。生产技术指导，原则上以实习单位技术指导人员为主；指导教师的任务，主要是检查实习现场，发现问题，随时给学生必要的辅导，指导学生写实习日记和实习报告，总结实习经验，组织交流，会同技术指导人员评定学生实习成绩等。思想教育和生活指导，由双方共同负责。实习期间，由双方组成领导小组（学生代表参加）。学生在实习期间写实习日记,逐日记录实习内容、完成任务的数量和质量、各种重要的资料与数据、实习的收获和心得、待解决的问题等等，为写实习报告积累材料，并培养学生分析、综合资料的能力。实习告一段落或结束时，每个学生都要独立地写实习报告。实习报告应包括技术报告和实习总结两个部分。
