非处方药分子式：CAS号：性质：表示某些药不需要医生处方，病人或患者或其家属可到社会药房或医药商店直接购买。非处方药的前身为处方药，即通过较长时间(6～)的考察，确认安全有效，使用方便，毒副反应小，价格合理，质量稳定，易于贮存等优点，由国家专门机构转为非处方药。对此要标签与说明书十分详尽，应印有批准文号、药品名称、主要成分、药理作用、适应性、用法用量与不良反应、禁忌症，注意事项与生产日期、有效期、贮存条件等，均需简明扼要，通俗易懂，便于病人根据症状与掌握医药知识作出自我判断，选购药物，再按照说明书进行自我治疗。非处方药范围，从目前国内外情况看，有感冒药、镇痛药、止咳药、咽喉含片、助消化药、抗胃酸药、消炎药、维生素、驱虫药、避孕药、通便药、外用药和中成药等。非处方药虽大多来自处方药，但它们在适应症、剂量等方面有所不同，甚至同一种药品也可有处方药与非处方药之分，即使已成为非处方药，也非终身制，通常3～5年重新评价一次，以便优胜劣汰，并将更安全更优良的药品增补进去。
