甲醇甲醇methanol最简单的醇,分子式CHOH。最早从干馏木材的蒸出液中分离得到,故又称木醇或木精。绝大多数以酯或醚的形式存在于自然界中,只有某些树叶或果实内含有少量的游离甲醇。可燃的无色有毒液体。熔点-93.9℃,沸点65℃,相对密度0.7914(20/4℃)。纯甲醇略带乙醇气味,粗产品刺鼻难闻。溶于水、乙醇、乙醚、丙酮、苯和其他有机溶剂。甲醇与硫酸、碳酸容易发生酯化反应;160℃时在硫酸、偏磷酸或三氧化二硼的作用下可失水生成甲醚CH3OCH3,甲醇蒸气通过氧化铝、氧化钍也可失水生成醚。工业上甲醇由一氧化碳与氢反应制得:甲醇可作溶剂,也是制甲醛、甲酸和无机或有机酸酯的原料。从消化道、呼吸道或经皮肤摄入甲醇,都会产生毒性反应。禁酒的国家把甲醇加在乙醇内,称内变性乙醇,具有毒性,不能饮用。
