病理检查病理检查pathologicalexamination用以检查机体器官、组织或细胞中的病理改变的病理形态学方法。为探讨器官、组织或细胞所发生的疾病过程，可采用某种病理形态学检查的方法，检查他们所发生的病变，探讨病变产生的原因、发病机理、病变的发生发展过程，最后做出病理诊断。病理形态学的检查方法，首先观察大体标本的病理改变，然后切取一定大小的病变组织，用病理组织学方法制成病理切片，用显微镜进一步检查病变。病理检查已经大量应用于临床工作及科学研究。在临床方面主要进行尸体病理检查及手术病理检查。手术病理检查的目的，一是为了明确诊断及验证术前的诊断，提高临床的诊断水平；二是诊断明确后，可决定下步治疗方案及估计预后，进而提高临床的治疗水平。通过临床病理分析，也可获得大量极有价值的科研资料。单纯形态学观察进行病理诊断的方法，即纯定性的方法、形态学的方法仅能进行粗略的定量估计，如根据瘤细胞的核分裂数目，尤其是病理性核分裂来判断恶性肿瘤的恶性变。20世纪90年代病理检查进入组化、免疫组化、分子生物学及癌基因检查。随着自然科学的迅速发展，新仪器设备和技术应用到医学中来，超微结构病理、分子病理学、免疫病理学、遗传病理学等方法也都应用到病理检查中。
