I’m a stay at home dad of 2 beautiful little girls (almost 3 and 6). We moved closer to my in-laws about a year ago, while we love the house it was built in the early ’80s. The vast majority of the walls have that hard “sand” texture on them so going the vinyl cling route wasn’t an option.

I used to be fairly artistic years ago, but I’ve not really painted anything outside of changing wall colors for probably 20+ years since high school (especially nothing close to this scale). I’ve always wanted to and thought about painting a mural for my kids someday.

Anywho… this is what I came up with. I used a cheap LED projector that I found on Amazon (which also works great for movie nights now), I penciled on the general shapes/proportions, then made at least a couple passes on each with acrylics trying to get as much detail in as I could.

I spent probably 3-4 hours a day 5+ days a week for the better part of the summer. The girls have a lot of different favorites so I couldn’t fit them all in, but overall they love it. We still need to change out the windows and replace thetrimbefore we move them into the new room.
在夏天的大部分时间里，我可能每次花3-4个小时，每周5天以上。女孩们有很多不同的最爱，所以我不能把她们都放进去，但总的来说，她们很喜欢。在我们搬进新房间之前，我们还需要把窗户换掉，把装饰换掉。
