广告学是一门独立的学科，它是研究广告活动的历史、理论、策略、制作与经营管理的科学。有关广告的知识，起初只零星地见之于新闻学科和经济学科的部分章节内，且很不成系统。是将广告以学术性的方法进行研究的专业。它通过研究市场经济、消费心理、美学，来增强人们的消费意识，产生社会心理共鸣。培养具备广告学理论与技能、宽广的文化与科学知识，能在新闻媒介广告部门、以及企事业单位从事广告经营管理、广告策划创意和设计制作、市场营销策划及市场调查分析工作的广告学高级专门人才。
