气化气化人体内各种精微物质的化生及其转化。具体地说,是精、气、血、津液等物质的化生和转化以及精微物质转化为功能与废物的过程。由于这些变化都是在气的运动下产生的,所以称为气化。气化作用主要表现在两个方面。一方面促使饮食物转化成水谷精微,然后再化生成精、气、血、津液等精微物质,而且这些物质之间也可以相互转化,如津液转化为血,精血互化等。另一方面指脏腑的某些功能活动,以及代谢产物的产生与排泄。如三焦气化促进水液的输布,尿液的产生与排泄是肾和膀胱气化作用的结果。津液转化为汗液,饮食物消化吸收后的残渣转化为粪便。气化贯穿于生命的始终,它以五脏为中心,六腑为辅助,担负着人体内物质代谢及物质与功能间转化的全过程。如果气化作用失常,则影响整个物质代谢过程,造成各种病变。如三焦气化不利,水液代谢障碍,或出现水湿泛滥为水肿,或出现水湿停聚为痰饮。肾与膀胱气化不利,尿液开阖失度,或开而不阖,出现尿频、尿失禁、遗尿;或闭而不开,出现小便不利;尿有余沥,甚至癃闭。
