道家伦理思想中国先秦时期的一种消极无为的人生哲学和"超善恶"的道德学说。主要代表是老子和庄周，主张"为我"的杨朱和主张"情欲寡浅"的稷下、黄老之学，属于这种伦理思想的支派。老、庄认为，无为的"道"是宇宙的本原和根本法则,人应该以"道"为法,清静无为,朴素自然,保持无知、无欲、无争的状态，这是人性之"常然"。达到并保持这种境界,就是与"道"合一,也就做到了"体道"。世俗的所谓仁、义、孝、慈等道德法则和规范，不过是废弃"大道"，丧失"素朴"的结果。因为这些道德原则和规范会"撄人之心"，"逆物之情"，诱使人们追名逐利。尤其是礼这一规范,更是"忠信之薄,而乱之首"，是人类道德蜕化的结果和表现。因此，老子主张"绝圣弃智"，"绝仁弃义"，"绝巧去利"，每日减损知识和俗望，而"复归于婴儿"。庄周则把仁义之端、善恶之别、是非之辩以及生死利害等一切现实矛盾都看成是人生的桎梏，并用相对主义论证其虚幻性。他追求一种个性绝对自由的人生理想，主张通过"心斋"、"坐忘"等神秘的"体道"工夫，使人们坠肢体，黜聪明，离形去知，同于大通，达到形如槁木，心如死灰，无是非好恶之情，忘利害之端，超出善恶之境，与天地并生，与万物为一的神秘精神境界。在道家的伦理思想中，还包含着保全自身的处世方法。老子主张懦弱谦下，提出"后其身而身先，外其身而身存"，认为"以其无私，故能成其私"，以其不争，"故天下莫能与之争"。庄周提出，人应该"无所可用"以成已之"大用"。他说："为善无近名，为恶无近刑。缘督以为经。可以保身，可以全生，可以养亲，可以尽年"（《养生主》）。道家伦理思想源远流长，法家曾受其影响，汉初黄老学和魏晋玄学中的伦理思想更是它的直接发展。后来，它又作为儒家思想的一种补充融入宋明理学中，成为封建地主阶级伦理思想的支柱之一。它对仁义等封建道德规范所作的批判，对"至德"之世的幻想，特别是庄周所阐发的那种追求个人自由的愿望等等内容，为后来各代不满现实的知识分子和政治失意者所吸取，对人民群众起了思想上的腐蚀作用。
