筛分机利用散粒物料与筛面的相对运动，使部分颗粒透过筛孔，将砂、砾石、碎石等物料按颗粒大小分成不同级别的机械。筛分的颗粒级别取决于筛面。筛面分篦栅、板筛和网筛三种。篦栅适用于筛分大颗粒物料，篦栅缝隙为筛下物粒径的1.1～1.2倍，一般不宜小于50毫米。板筛由钢板冲孔而成，孔呈圆形、方形或矩形，孔径一般为10～80毫米，使用寿命较长，不易堵塞，适用于筛分中等颗粒。网筛由钢丝编成或焊成，孔呈方形、矩形或长条形，常用孔径一般为6～85毫米,长条形筛孔适合于筛分潮湿的物料，网筛的优点是有效面积较大。筛分机分固定筛和活动筛两类。活动筛又分转动筛和振动筛。固定筛 大多采用篦栅装在破碎机进口上方，以防止超规格的物料落入。转动筛 大多由板筛折成多角形或圆形筒体而成，其结构简单、寿命长,但生产率低、机体笨重、庞大,目前很少采用。振动筛 有偏心环动筛、惯性振动筛和共振筛等，其共同特点是筛面作高频、小振幅振动，使筛面上的物料发生离析。筛孔不易堵塞，筛分效率高,构造简单,重量较轻，耗电少，还能筛分粘性或潮湿的物料，应用广泛；当原物料中含有粘土、淤泥或其他杂质时，还可在筛分机上用压力水冲洗，进行湿法筛分。①偏心环动筛的振幅不随筛上物料的多少而改变，适用于第一道粗筛。筛孔尺寸一般为13～100毫米,可达100～250毫米。最大入料粒径可达 300毫米。②惯性振动筛有单轴的和双轴的，其振动系统的运动与物料重量和弹簧刚度有关，故筛面上物料的增减直接影响振幅大小，适用于供料量和粒径变化不大的场合，常用于骨料的第二道筛分。筛孔尺寸为0.5～100毫米，最大入料粒径在100～500毫米之间。③共振筛的筛箱是在共振条件下工作的，只须供给克服筛分运动阻尼的能量就可连续工作，耗电较少。适用于中、细粒石料筛分。筛孔尺寸为0.5～80毫米,最大入料粒径为100毫米。
