中国的哲学教学机构泛指近现代中国为传授哲学各门类知识或传播马克思主义哲学，培养哲学人材而设立的专门性机构。它以综合性大学的哲学系及中国共产党各级党校的哲学教研室为主要形式。在中国，设立专门的哲学教学机构始于20世纪初。19北京大学首先创设相当于系、科一级行政编制的"中国哲学门",内设儒学哲学和西方哲学史课程,19改名为哲学系，张颐、蒋维乔等先后任系主任。"五四"运动后，一些大学相继设立哲学系。19武汉大学设"教育哲学系"，1928年改名为哲学系，由范寿康任系主任；清华大学、中央大学、中山大学、燕京大学、浙江大学、中法大学等也先后设立哲学系。在抗日战争期间，由清华大学、南开大学、北京大学撤到昆明而成立的西南联合大学也设立了哲学系，该系聚集了全国许多哲学教授任教，培育了不少哲学专门人才。1949年，中华人民共和国建立后，随着马克思主义哲学的广泛传播和人民教育事业的发展，各类哲学教学机构相应地逐步发展起来。1952年，高等学校院系调整，大学哲学系全部合并于北京大学哲学系，设哲学和心理学两个专业，有教授、副教授40余人，金岳霖任系主任。1953年11月，马克思列宁学院（现中共中央党校）建立哲学教研室，艾思奇任主任。1952年，中国人民大学设马列主义研究班,由苏联凯列博士等授课,该校的哲学系是在此基础上发展起来的。同年，武汉大学和复旦大学恢复或新设了哲学系。1958～1966年陆续恢复或新建哲学系的还有辽宁大学、吉林大学、黑龙江大学、江西大学、四川大学、中山大学、厦门大学、河北大学、南开大学、杭州大学、山东大学。1973年贵州大学设立哲学系。1976年以后，增设哲学系的还有广西大学、南京大学、内蒙古大学、安徽大学、北京师范大学、郑州大学、湘潭大学、西北大学、山西大学、华东师范大学。设有哲学专业的有中央民族学院和西北政法学院等。在党校系统中，除中共中央党校外，各省、市、自治区以及地、市党校均设有哲学教研室（组）。创立最早的北京大学哲学系，1985年设有马克思主义哲学原理、马克思主义哲学史、中国哲学史、东方哲学、西方哲学、毛泽东哲学思想、逻辑学、美学、伦理学、自然辩证法、宗教学11个教研室，有教授、副教授39人，讲师31人，助教10人，在任系主任为黄楠森。中共中央党校的哲学教研室，设 5个教研组，有教授、副教授21人，副译审2人，讲师22人，助教27人。在中国的哲学教学机构中，具有哲学博士学位授与权的有：北京大学哲学系、中国人民大学哲学系、武汉大学哲学系、中共中央高级党校哲学教研室、复旦大学哲学系、吉林大学哲学系、南开大学哲学系、华东师范大学哲学系、中山大学哲学系等。
