《货币理论与实践》《货币理论与实践》【《货币理论与实践”本书作者J.L.汉森(J·L.H~)是英国金融专家。本书以英国银行制度为对象，而编写的一本实用性的货币经济学教材。本书初版于19肠年，到1983年已再版七次，印刷十四次。全书分为四大部分，十八章，其中第一、三部分主要谈货币理论与政策;第二、四部分主要谈英国与世界货币与金融体系，这两部分分别从理论和实践方面论述了英国国内和国际货币金融体系的变化和发展。(l)对货币的发展、重要性及金融中介的论述。本书第一章《货币的发展、其性质和重要性》对货币的产生、发展、性质、职能和重要性等作了一般论述。作者强调指出，货币是作为物物交换为基础的经济制度有局限性的结果而开始出现的，用货币作为交换媒介，物物交换中的难题可以迎刃而解，即使是计划经济，如果使用货币，工作也会进行得更顺利。货币的形式、属性和职能也在不断变化，最初的实物货币发展为金属铸币，再由金融铸币发展为纸币，然后由一般不再具有内在价值的纸币发展成存款货币，甚至演变成无形的东西。在现代经济中，货币对市场机制的运行至关重要，没有货币，价格机制就不能起作用;货币在经济生活中，已不是被动的交易媒介，它已成为控制与管理经济的能动力量。货币使狗买力一般化，它执行四种职能:交换媒介、记帐单位、价值贮藏和延期支付手段。货币在发达经济中，还会有更多的职能;对货币的控制和管制已成为政府试图用以影响生产水平的手段之一，他说马克思也未赞成取消货币。第二章金融中介专门考察金融中介的性质和对各种金融中介如何划分的问题。在作者看来，金融中介尽管很多，但都只参与两类活动:一是支付结算活动，它起“传导作用”;二是资金融通活动，它起“中介作用”。有些金融中介只起“中介作用”，有些兼而有之。金融中介使金融交易变得“间接”或“迁回”，但这对货币需求双方都有利，它可增大资金供给，刺激投资需求，能满足供求双方各自具体的金融要求。经济愈先进，金融体系愈精密，金融中介的数量和种类愈多，金融中介化过程也就更为复杂。最后，作者同意根据金融中介的负债是否能执行货币的作为交换媒介的首要职能，将金融中介区分为银行金融中介和非银行金融中介两个主要类别，而银行金融中介又可再分为“一级”银行和“二级”银行。(2)对英国金融体系的论述。主要使用机构分析法，对组成英国金融体系的金融机构和金融市场一一加以评析。其中第三至六章论述银行和非银行金融中介，第七至九章主要论述货币市场，第十至十二章论述英国中央银行—英格兰银行。
