《在行为主义者看来的心理学》J.B.华生著。费城利平科特出版社 19第一版，1924年第2版。商务印书馆1925年出版臧玉铨译唐钺校订的中译本。本书除序言外,共有11章。第1章讲心理学的问题和范围;第2章讲心理学的方法。以后用大量篇幅讲述感受器和它们的刺激、动作的生理基础、反应器官（即肌肉和脑体）、情绪、本能、身体习惯、言语习惯、机体的工作。最后一章讲人格及其错乱。 本书是华生系统地阐述行为主义立场的代表作。作者在书中主张：心理学是行为的科学；研究动物的方法和原则可以应用于人类的研究；人类的活动是可以预测和控制的；研究心理的目的在于从刺激预测反应，从反应找出有效刺激的性质。他认为心理学应采用客观的方法，具体包括观察法、条件反射法、口头报告法和测验法。其中口头报告法是一种变相的内省法，也是行为主义者不彻底或自相矛盾的表现。作者在书中反对传统心理学把意识作为研究对象的观点，企图把心理、意识归结为行为。他在书中指出，书里没有讨论意识，也没有提到感觉、知觉、注意、意志和意象等心理学术语。书中虽然保留了思维和记忆，但完全用行为主义所下的新定义。譬如，把"思维"等同于习得的内隐的言语反应或"喉头习惯"，把"记忆"说成是某些习惯经过无练习的一段时间以后，给予刺激或情境仍可以引起以往的反应,或使反应增加或删减。作者在书中批评了W.詹姆斯和E.L.桑代克把许多社会性行为都归为本能的说法。本书的基本思想在作者19发表于《心理学评论》第20期上的一篇被认为是行为主义的宣言书的论文中已经提出过。那篇论文的题目是："行为主义者心目中的心理学"，曾由周先庚译成中文，选入人民教育出版社1983年出版的《西方心理学家文选》中。
