地下建筑环境由若干自然因素和人工因素有机组成，并与生存在其内部的人员相互作用的地下物质空间；是综合研究人和地下环境相适应的新课题。发展简史 20世纪70年代中期，随着环境科学和环境保护工作的发展，地下建筑的环境问题逐步被引起重视。70年代后期,工业发达国家将地下空间视为资源,大力发展各类地下建筑工程。由于地下建筑本身的特点及其内部环境条件与地面的差异，一些环境因素严重地影响着地下建筑内部人员的舒适感、工作效率和身体健康，使地下建筑环境问题日益受到重视。环境特性和问题 与地面相比，地下建筑环境有如下一些特性：①封闭性；②恒温性；③人为因素的从属性；④围岩介质和围护结构材料等自然因素的侵蚀性等。建造在岩土中的地下建筑物为一封闭体，既受到围岩介质的物理、化学和生物性因素的作用和影响，也受到建筑物的功能、材料、经济和技术等人为因素的制约。地下建筑物内部缺少阳光直接照射，光线暗淡。围岩和建筑材料可能放射出有害气体或射线，人们的生产和生活活动也会产生有毒物质、臭味和尘土，引起空气污染。室内潮湿，壁面温度低，负辐射大，空气中负离子含量少。蚊、蝇害虫及细菌、病毒繁殖快，生存期长。生产和生活活动会使环境噪声级增强，引起人们神经系统不舒适。环境保护与改造 主要措施有：①加强通风换气。改善小气候和排出空气中的污染物（见隧道及地下工程通风）。通风设计还要防止有害气体从室外侵入。②围护结构表面加设防潮、保温和隔热材料，减少壁面对人体的负辐射及提高舒适感。③合理的采光和照明。把天然光线和自然景色引入地下，增加照度和自然气氛；适当地提高地下照度标准，采用人工照明；增设一定数量的保健灯,利用紫外线杀菌、抗佝偻病，促进免疫,抵抗疾病。④进行必要的装修装饰。从造型、色彩、质感和光源等方面综合设计，以满足视觉舒适和降低噪声。⑤对机械设备采取减振和隔噪。⑥坚持环境设计。把室内空间作为整体环境综合设计，除符合使用功能外，还应尽量满足人体的生理和心理要求。室内空间的分隔和造型艺术要力求创造一个较好的视觉环境。内部采用高明度、浅淡和明亮的后退色，可使房间有宽敞之感；在狭长的过道内，设计明亮色彩的侧墙，或用几种不同的色彩，可以打破单调、漫长和沉闷之感；室内空间尺度要布置合适，使其尽量通透；家具设备和门洞间的尺度要符合人体工程学的要求；各部件相互之间的比例要协调；光和色要经过科学和艺术处理。⑦进行科学管理。对环境质量进行定期卫生调查和监测；对主要污染源进行控制和治理；秋、冬季节进行湿式扫除以减少尘埃；根据需要增设降湿机、空气负离子发生器、吸尘器、空调机等机械设备；建立专人管理负责制等。总之，需要采取综合措施，才能经常保持良好的地下建筑环境。
