半导体激光泵浦的激光晶体半导体激光泵浦的激光晶体LD pumped laser crystal半导体激光泵浦的激光晶体LD PumPed lasercrystal适用于半导体二极管作泵浦源的激光晶体。传统的固体激光器一般用闪光灯泵浦,由于闪光灯的发光区域宽,只有一部分能量被吸收后转换成激光,大部分转换成热量,使工作物质温度上升,恶化了输出激光束的质量。半导体激光器输出的激光谱线窄(一般为几纳米),选择合适的半导体激光器,使其激光光谱与某种固体激光材料的吸收光谱匹配,即可达到高效泵浦,大大减轻固体工作物质的热负荷。因为半导体激光器光泵区域小,需用的晶体尺寸也小,因此要求基质晶体内可掺入的激活离子浓度要高,且不产生浓度碎灭。此外,要求与光泵的半导体激光波长相匹配的晶体的吸收带要宽,吸收系数要大;要有低的阑值功率;Q开关运转时,荧光寿命要长。当泵浦光源从闪光灯改变为半导体激光二极管时,对被泵浦的激光晶体产生了不同的要求。用闪光灯泵浦时,对材料的热性能和机械性能有严格要求,而半导体泵浦则更注重材料的光谱性能。在已使用的激光晶体中,掺钱石榴石(Nd:YAG)晶体的阑值功率低,光学质量高,是应用于半导体激光光泵的固体激光器的主要材料。由于Nd3+离子在基质晶体中受分凝系数的限制,Nd3+离子浓度不能太高,所以一些氟化物和钨、钥酸盐晶体等掺杂浓度高,激光效率高,荧光寿命长,有可能成为半导体激光泵浦的后选晶体。用半导体泵浦可制成效率高、功率和频率稳定、激光束质量好、寿命长的全固化激光器,并经各种频率转换技术,可发展成各种波长、各种模式、各种运转方式的激光器,这种激光器将在很大范围内取代已有的各类固体、液体和气体激光器。(沈鸿元)
