玉米恢复系(maize male fertility restorer)
玉米恢复系(maize male fertility restorer)与细胞质雄花不育系杂交后能使玉米子代正常散粉的自交系。它是玉米不育化制种时必须具备的父本材料。恢复系所表现的恢复性是受核基因控制的，一般都呈显性，恢复基因用Rf符号表示，是针对细胞质雄花不育的核内隐性基因rf起作用的。因此，一个细胞质雄花不育株既带有特定的细胞质，其细胞核内又含有rf基因，经用细胞质正常、含Rf基因的恢复系数据授粉后，杂种细胞核内所含Rf rf杂合基因型，就能消除细胞质雄性不育性，恢复正常散粉。恢复基因表达的部位和时间有所不同，这类恢复基因能作用于杂交一代的体细胞，使整株的花粉粒都正常发育。用雄花不育系配制杂交时，必须确切了解恢复系的名称、来源和恢复性能等。
