污泥浓缩使污泥初步脱水的处理方法。目的是降低污泥的含水率,缩小污泥体积,为后续处理创造条件。污泥含水率高(99%左右),悬浮颗粒粒度很小(98%的颗粒小于1毫米),固体颗粒外面还包一层厚的水合膜,影响污泥中颗粒的凝聚。为使污泥降低含水率,要采用浓缩、脱水(干化)、干燥等处理方法。其中以浓缩处理的费用最低,能源消耗最少,因此提高污泥浓缩效率,可以节省后续处理费用。污泥浓缩的方法主要有以下两种:沉降浓缩法 污泥在竖流式或辐流式浓缩池中靠沉降作用与水分离。浓缩池多为圆形。稀污泥从中间进水口输入池中,逐渐沉降或聚集。池底设有刮泥板,刮集污泥经排泥口由泵输送到消化池或干化场。沉降浓缩法可将难以浓缩的污泥中的固体物含量从0.5~2.5%浓缩到1.5~4.0%,体积约缩小2~5倍。从二次沉淀池排出的污泥浓缩所需时间一般为10~12小时。上浮浓缩法 主要有四种方法:溶气上浮、真空上浮、分散上浮和生物上浮。应用较多的是溶气上浮浓缩。溶气上浮是把压缩空气引入污泥中,使一部分空气在压力下溶于水,当污泥进入浓缩池后,压力消失,溶入水中的空气就成为微小气泡上升,携带污泥中悬浮颗粒浮上水面,由刮泥传送器除去。其过程如图。一般认为上浮浓缩法效果较好。经过处理的浮泥中的固体物含量可达7%,而处理时间为沉降浓缩法所需时间的1/3左右。此外,还可用离心机、震动筛对污泥进行浓缩。震动筛是借震动力破坏污泥的固体颗粒外围的水合膜,释放结合水。此法可以缩短浓缩时间,目前还在研究阶段。
