铀矿物以铀为重要组分的矿物。已知铀矿物和含铀矿物约有500种,其中矿物组成稳定、铀含量恒定、物化性质确定的铀矿物近200种，可作为工业资源的仅20余种。存在 铀在自然界分布很广，赋存状态大体可分为三种类型：① 铀矿物类型,在地壳中由于天然的物理－化学和生物作用而形成，例如岩浆岩中常见的铀矿物和含铀矿物，有晶质铀矿、沥青铀矿、钛铀矿、铜铀云母、钙铀云母及铌钽酸盐类、沉积岩中的铀石等。② 与非铀矿物类质同象的形态,其晶体结构中的某离子被铀的离子所取代，而晶体结构不变，在岩浆岩的副矿物中较常见，例如在独居石、磷灰石及钛酸盐、铌钽酸盐矿物里，铀以U4+形式置换其中离子半径大致相等的元素，呈类质同象形态存在。③ 细分散吸附状态,铀呈细小的质点或呈离子状态被某些矿物以物理或化学形式吸附，如铀酰离子易被有机质、玻璃蛋白石、磷灰石、粘土矿物和氢氧化铁等所吸附。成因 铀在地壳中的分布特性和存在形式，由铀的以下化学性质决定：①铀是亲氧元素，铀与氧可以形成稳定的化合物；②自然界中最常见的四价和六价铀，参与了地球化学作用的氧化还原过程，可以形成种类繁多的铀矿物；③铀是两性元素，它的氧化物与碱性氧化物作用生成铀酸盐，与酸作用生成铀酰盐；④在结晶化学方面，四价铀和六价铀能形成多电荷大离子团，能与钍、稀土、钇、铌、钽、锆、铪等元素有密切的类质同象关系。根据以上四种性质，可以解释铀矿物在自然界的共生组合规律。分类 铀矿物的分类方法很多，如按成因可分为原生矿物和次生矿物，按铀在矿物中的原子价可分为四价铀形成的矿物和六价铀形成的矿物，按铀矿物的化学成分可分为简单氧化物类、复杂氧化物类、氢氧化物类、铀云母类、硅酸盐类等。常见的铀矿物见表。除铀矿物外，还有种类繁多的含铀矿物，中国已发现70余种。这些含铀矿物大多数不具有工业意义，仅具有地质和找矿意义,其中一部分具有综合利用价值。(见彩图)参考书目王德荫、傅永全编：《铀矿物学》,原子能出版社,北京，1981。魏思华编著：《中国铀矿物》，原子能出版社，北京，1979。
