血总胆固醇及正常值血总胆固醇及正常值胆固醇是人的生命不可缺少的物质。血液中，总胆固醇的水平为游离胆固醇和酯化胆固醇之和。胆固醇有外源性和内源性两种来源，1/3来自食物，2/3来自体内合成。细胞合成胆固醇的基础物质是乙酸，它和辅酶A结合，形成乙酰辅酶A。3个乙酰辅酶A分子连接起来，成为3羟-3甲基戊二酰辅酶A(HMG CoA)，即胆固醇前体。HMG CoA在HMG CoA还原酶的作用下，成为甲羟戊酸，再经过链式反应，最终成为胆固醇。HMG CoA转变成甲羟戊酸是胆固醇合成的关键步骤。游离胆固醇与脂肪酸的结合，称为胆固醇酯化。这一过程，需借助卵磷脂胆固醇乙酰化酶(LCAT)和乙酰辅酶A胆固醇乙酰转化酶(ACAT)，前者使细胞外胆固醇酯化，后者使细胞内胆固醇酯化。当外源性胆固醇摄入过多时，ACAT被激活，使细胞内胆固醇以酯化形式
