奥尔夫，C.德国作曲家、音乐戏剧家、儿童音乐教育家。1895年7月10日生于慕尼黑，1982年3月29日卒于同地。1913～1914就学于慕尼黑音乐学院，1915～1919在德国各地任歌剧院指挥，19起定居慕尼黑，从事创作与教学。他对中世纪音乐、早期巴罗克音乐、德意志民歌、非洲打击乐等有深入研究。1924年与友人D.京特合办"京特体操-音乐-舞蹈学校"，探求音乐与语言动作的结合及各种打击乐的配合,并在此基础上写成《教学作品》,创建独特的儿童音乐教学体系，为世界各国广泛采用。奥尔夫的创作几乎均为舞台音乐作品，但一般不称作歌剧；虽取材于历史、民间传说或童话、神话等，但具有强烈的生活气息和哲理性。其音乐源自他对音乐戏剧的新观念，充分发挥音乐的戏剧性，并富于强烈的表现力和节奏性。带有场面和动作的清唱剧《卡尔米纳·布拉纳》（又名《博伊伦之歌》）取材于13世纪反宗教的同名德意志民间诗歌集，1937年首演后，奠定了他的世界声誉，从此形成其独创的"奥尔夫风格"。此作品与取材于公元前 1世纪罗马诗人卡图卢斯诗作的"带场景的戏"《卡图里·卡尔米纳》(1942)，以及取材于卡图卢斯及古希腊诗人萨福、欧里庇得斯诗作的"带场景的音乐会"《爱神的胜利》(1953)合为三部曲。童话剧《月亮》(1939)和《聪明的女人》(1943)取材于格林童话，《贝尔瑙的女人》(1947)取材于德国巴伐利亚民间传说，均自撰剧本。《安提戈涅》(1949)、《暴君奥狄浦斯》(1959)及《普罗米修斯》(1966)均根据古希腊同名悲剧的德译本谱成。他的不少作品被译成多种语言在世界各国上演。他是20世纪最有广泛观众基础的音乐戏剧家之一。
