《自然通史和天体论》德国古典哲学家康德于1755年写的关于天文学和天体演化学的著作。在这部书里，康德根据牛顿定律试论整个宇宙的结构及其力学起源，首次提出太阳系起源的星云假说。这个假说在历史上有重大的影响（见康德和拉普拉斯星云说）。全书共分三个部分和一个《前言》。作者利用当时已经观测到的天文学材料，提出在遥远的过去年代里，宇宙空间充满分散、稀薄、细小的物质微粒，他称之为"原始星云"。原始星云在引力和斥力作用下，产生围绕引力中心的圆周运动，形成巨大的旋涡，而大部分物质则逐渐集中到垂直于它的转动轴的平面上，形成圆盘状的结构。同时，质点又相互碰撞，结合在一起。在圆盘中央，形成一个最大的物质团块，这便是太阳的胚胎。而绕中心团块作圆周运动的同一区域的质点，是相对静止的,仍然会在引力作用下形成较小的团块,最后生成行星。行星胚胎又在斥力作用下开始自转，在小一级的规模上形成卫星。书中还载有康德的其他一些科学创见，如分析了当时望远镜所观测到的某些椭圆形星云，认为它们是和银河系一样的巨大恒星系统，对其他行星的生命问题也作了推测。此书中译本名为《宇宙发展史概论》，出版于1972年。
