水生生物群落结构一定水域中各种生物的聚合称为水生生物群落。示意如图。一个群落中的各种生物之间,生物与环境之间都存在着复杂的相互关系,由这些相互关系决定的各种生物在时间上和空间上的配置状况,称为群落结构。群落结构的特征主要表现在种类组成、群落外貌、垂直结构和水平结构方面。群落的生物种类是群落结构的基础;群落的外貌和结构是群落中生物之间、生物与环境之间相互关系的标志。群落中的各种生物对周围的生态环境都有一定的要求,周围环境起了变化,它们就会产生相应的反应,表现为群落中生物的种类和数量的增减;群落外貌、垂直结构和水平结构也随之发生变化。因此,水体污染必然引起水生生物群落结构的变化。研究这些变化,就可以评价水体的质量状况。丹麦学者E.弗耶丁斯塔在1963~1965年根据污水中的优势群落把水体分成9个生物带,用以评价水体的污染状况。他提出可用裸藻群落表示甲型多污带,即溶解氧甚至可以低到零并含有硫化氢(H2S)的污染水体。在这种水体中,优势种是耐低溶解氧的绿色裸藻(Euglenaviri-dis)、静裸藻(E.deses)、华丽裸藻 (E.phaecodies)等。而主要由羽枝竹枝藻(Draparnaldia plumosa)和河生胭脂藻 (Hildenbrandia rivularis)等不耐污种类组成的绿藻群落,则可表示清水带。70年代英国人根据大型底栖无脊椎动物和鱼类群落结构的变化提出了评价河流水质的四级标准。近年来,北美和欧洲大多利用底栖无脊椎动物的群落结构变化,作为生物监测手段,因为这些动物个体较大(成体长度最小为3~5毫米),活动力较差,寿命较长,易于采集和识别。60年代初,中国一些单位调查了第二松花江污染引起的水生生物群落结构变化。70年代,又广泛开展了长江、湘江、官厅水库、鸭儿湖等水体的生物群落研究,利用底栖动物群落结构变化来评价这些水域所受的有机农药或重金属污染,并根据寡毛类、水生昆虫幼虫、软体动物的比例,划分评价标准的等级。应用群落结构评价环境质量,不需要贵重的仪器就可综合反映污染对生物的直接危害和发展趋势,但是不能说明污染物的性质和含量。因此,群落结构的生物学评价只有与化学、物理学评价结合起来,才能取得准确的监测结果。鉴于影响群落结构的因素并不仅是来自污染,因此,广泛调查不同类型污染水体的生物群落,开展正常生态和污染生态的群落结构研究,以及运用数学模型,以信息论原理来概述群落结构等,都是目前较重要的研究课题。参考书目J.Cairns,Jr.,K.L.Dickson,Biological Methods for the Assessment of Water Quality,ASTM-STP-528,pp.148~162, AmericanSociety ofTesting Materials,1973.
