科技人才科技人才科技人才在社会科学技术职业领域中，以自己较高的创造力、科学的探索精神，为科学技术发展和人类进步做出贡献的人，是科学人才和技术人才的略语。其特点是:①社会性。科技人才是社会的一部分，并在一定社会条件和环境中从事科学技术生产劳动。②创造性。科技人才与一般科技人员的差异主要表现为创造性，不仅表现在物质文明建设中，也表现在精神文明建设中。如发现新的事实和新的规律，创立新的理论，提出新的方法，研制新的工艺和产品等。③进步性。科学技术是社会生产力中最活跃、变化最迅速的一个因素。正是科学技术推动了社会生产力的发展，而社会生产力的发展又推动了社会进步。社会作用①科技人才既是精神财富的创造者，也是物质财富的生产者。科技人才是以科研劳动为主要形式的劳动者。科学技术一旦产生，作为知识形态来说，是精神财富;它的物化形式作为生产力来说，是物质财富。新的科学知识在以知识形态存在时是潜在的生产力，只要加沐生产过程就转变成为直接生产力，变成物质财富。因此，科研劳动创造精神财富，又生产物质财富;作为科研劳动主体的科技人才则既是精神财富的创造者，又是物质财富的生产者。②科技人才是新生产力的开拓者。掌握现代科学技术知识的劳动者，一旦将新的科学技术应用于生产过程，就会物化为劳动者的生产经验和技能的组成部分，就会导致生产工具的改革和劳动对象的扩大，从而使科学技术成为强大的物质生产力，推动社会迅速向前发展。从人类发展的历史进程来看，只是在资本主义产生以后，科技人才才变成最新生产力的开拓者。③科技人才是人类社会进步的促进者。生产力是社会生产中最活跃的因素，科学技术又是生产力中最活跃的部分，而掌握科学知识、能够创造新生产力的科技人才又同生产力中这个最活跃部分紧密联系着。因此，科技人才同工人、农民一样，也是推动社会进步的基本力量，是人类社会进步的促进者。④科技人才既是前人知识的继承者、传授者，又是新知识的创造者。科学技术是全人类共同创造的精神财富，它具有时间上的继承性和空间上的积累性。任何时代科学知识的总和都不但是对前人科学技术成果的继承和发扬，而且有新创造和发展。也就是说，科技人才把前人已获得的科技成果、已完成的技术发明以及行之有效的科学方法等科学技术遗产都继承下来，通过各种途径去改革、创新，取得新发现、新理论、新方法，使自己变成一代新的科技人才，然后再将科学技术传授给下一代，只有这样，才能促进人类的科学技术源远流长，万世常新地发展。
