低空急流低空急流low-leveljet在对流层下部距地面1000～4000米的强风带。中心风速一般大于12米/秒，最大可达40米/秒。低空急流的流程长短不一，长的可达数千千米，短的仅有数百千米，北半球的低空急流一般为偏南或西南气流，出现在副热带高压的西侧或北侧边缘。当有台风在副热带高压西南侧发生和发展时，也可出现东南向的低空急流。低空急流的风速，有明显的超地转特征，即实际风速大于地转风速，在强风速中心附近往往超过一倍以上。低空急流区域水平温度分布比较均匀。低空急流的左侧为主要上升运动区，右侧为下沉运动区。低空急流同暴雨、冰雹、龙卷等强对流天气有密切关系。
