The second affiliated hospital was founded in 1927.As the earliest general hospital of Jiangxi Province, it is a first class tertiary hospital which has dedicated her history to advancing medicine through excellence in education, research and patient care. In addition to the 2515 beds with more than one million outpatients per year in this area, there will be another 2900 beds in Hongjiaozhou Branch next year.
We have a profound history, as an academic medical center, we performed the first kidney transplantation, liver transplantation and heart transplantation of our province, we are also recognized by other organizations for providing the first cardiopulmonary bypass, the first pacemaker, the first coronary artery bypass grafting and etc. of our province.

We also focus on transplantation, minimal invasive techniques, interventional therapy and etc. Some specialties, such as general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, Pediatric Ophthalmology, and E.N.T.department, are in the domestic leading level.
We have many national level and provincial level research centers, and we are supported by varies funds which are together more than 100,000,000 yuanin the last decade. Among our experts, there are academicians, states recognized talents and many guest professors around the world.
What is worth mentioning is we cancelled outpatient infusion first in China, advocated the rational use of medicines and started antimicrobial drug monitoring first in China.
