动机信，西语叫carta de motivación，英语叫motivation letter，如果你在某个专业的材料要求中看到了这两个词，或者需要你写一封信说明你对这个专业的了解、申请动机等，就代表你需要为这个专业写动机信啦。
有时候我们会遇到西班牙大学需要personal statement letter/carta de declaración personal（自我陈述信）
自我陈述信跟动机信差不多，有一个区别是，动机信侧重讲自己的未来计划，而自我陈述侧重讲过往的经历。
与推荐信不同，西班牙留学申请的动机信是以本人名义写的，写作中要用第一人称。

建议的准备流程如下：
要准备西班牙硕士申请所需的动机信，
首先，你需要先大致确定近期你想申请的西班牙大学专业，查看每个学校、专业的申请要求，确定以下内容：
√ 这所大学是否需要动机信
√ 每个专业一封还是该大学的所有专业共用一封
√ 动机信有没有特殊要求
在这一步，你可以把要申请的专业分类，比如分成商科、传媒、文学等类别，确定哪些专业可以共用一封，哪些专业要单独写。
第二步，就是如何撰写西班牙硕士申请动机信了。
动笔之前，先要了解动机信基本的格式、结构要求，大概打一个草稿。这一步外语不熟练的同学可以用中文进行，最重要的是确定打算写哪些内容。
有了前一步的基础，下笔会容易一些。外语好的同学可以直接用西语或英语撰写，如果感到吃力，同样可以先写中文再翻译。
经过一个痛苦的过程，终于憋出来一封动机信，但先别急着提交，动机信还需要再检查一下：

申请西班牙大学需要的动机信的结构是怎样的？动机信有格式要求吗？
西班牙留学动机信的结构，大概是这样的：
1. 称呼收信人
2. 简要介绍自己的姓名、打算申请的专业（如该校所有专业共用一封动机信，则不用明确写出）、简单概括为什么选择这个专业/大学。
3. 介绍自己的过往经历，如教育、工作经历等，着重介绍与自己目标专业有关的部分，如发表论文、获得奖学金、实习、参加竞赛等。
4. 阐述自己选择该专业/大学的原因，为什么你认为你应当被录取，未来你打算用这个专业学到的知识进行哪些方面的发展。
注意此处不是开头内容的简单重复，而要展开来说，跨专业申请硕士的同学要注意表达自己对目标专业的了解和学习热情，表明自己是考虑清楚、有明确的规划才跨专业申请的。
5. 结尾、落款
其中的3、4部分内容可以根据需求变换顺序，不过大致需要写的内容就是这些。
申请留学西班牙，写动机信时，有哪些注意事项？
1. 西班牙留学的动机信不要写太长，尽量控制在一页即可。
2. 动机信是你以个人名义写给学校老师的信，语气可以适当亲切、诚恳一些，语言简洁明了无语法错误即可，不要堆砌俗语、长难句，不要把动机信写成小作文。
3. 动机信是展示自我的空间，套用模板出来的动机信千人一面，老师也懒得看，原创的更有吸引力。
4. 写动机信要把握好度，既不要过于自信引起反感，也不要太过谦虚，让老师怀疑你是不是真的不行，尽量客观、有条理一些。
5. 写完记得多多检查，有条件的同学可以请老师、小伙伴给你修改或者提提建议。
